Circle Circus

Hello There

Just thought Id pop on and show you this card I made for my newsletter a couple of months ago and was such a tiny picture I dont think it did it justice... Ithink this was for a colour challenge... Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Tempting Turquoise.

I remember having so much fun creating this card doing all the different layers with the circles and scallops and I think the colours just look stunning together. I really like the Circle Circus stampset aswell which I must confess I dont use as much as I should because its beautiful.

Supplies I used for this card is...

Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White Cardstock
Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise and Kiwi Kiss Inks
Stampsets are Stem Sayings and Circle Circus
Kiwi Kiss Vanilla Satin ribbon
Rhinestone Brads
Scallop circle, 1 and a quarter" and 3 quarter" punches

Babies and Young Children Stampastack Cards

At my recent Stampastack I focused on babies and young children. We had fun making these cards together. Here is some of what we did...

The first one in the set of four cards for babies was this sweet little chick from Fun and Fast Notes (all four cards are using Fun and Fast Notes Stampset).

The technique we used in all four cards was watercolouring using aquapainters, inks and watercolour paper.

Then we did this gorgeous Star

We used the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder "Perfect Polka Dots" in the Bigshot Machine

Next was the cute little Pram

All these cards are using the Soft Subtles Colour Family perfect for babies!

Last but not least is the adorable little Hedgehog!

We used the gorgeous Tiny Tags Stampset and matching Medium Jewelry Tag Punch for the sentiment.

I love how versatile the Fun and Fast Notes Stampset is. You may have noticed that the words under the images were omitted thats how I was able to use all four images just for babies.

Colour Renovation!

A few of you might have heard some whispers that Stampin' Up! are releasing a massive colour revamp. Well its true!!! I have already posted the links on the right hand side for you to look at but I wanted to get a good grasp of the situation before I put some of the details up on my blog! There will be future announcements from Stampin' Up! in the following months so I will keep you up to date with whats going on.

So here is the information that I have gathered so far...

Stampin' Up have announced that they are retiring 30 colours from our colour range. I know its a bit of a shock to the system at first but once you know the full story you will be as thrilled with the changes as I am!
When I first heard about it and saw what colours were retiring I was a tad sad... Goodbye Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow, Mellow Moss... Goodbye Cameo Coral, Pale Plum and Pixie Pink! But HELLO Daffodil Delight how cheery you are, HELLO Early Expresso how yummy you look, HELLO Cherry Cobbler if you were a smell you'd smell very nice indeed!!! And WELCOME back old favourites... River Rock  and Wild Wasabi!!! These are just a few of the colours Im looking forward to in this exciting new Colour Renovation!!!

So to break it down here is the info you need to know!

Stampin' Up! have spent a year and a half researching Colours, trends, design and fashions to come up with a gorgeous aray of up to date delicious colours to see us into the next few years and beyond!
This Colour Renovation will take effect from 1st of September when we release our brand new main Idea Book & Catalogue.

The new colour palette will be organized into four collections: Subtles, Brights, Regals, and Neutrals. You will see 25 of our current colours remaining, and ten past In Colours returning as core colours, and the addition of five new core colours.

One part of our Colour Renovation that we're sure you're going to love is the new In Colour programme! Each year we will introduce five new In Colours, and they will remain for two years. This means that the 2010-2011 In Colours will be introduced this year, but will not be retired until the 2012-2013 colours are introduced. This year there will be only be five In Colours, but after that, we will always have ten (the previous year's plus the new).

Im terribly excited about the whole thing and to name just a few positives I can see from all this include:
  • making it easier for new customers to choose colours they like
  • less overwhelming, smaller colour families make it less daunting to create gorgeous projects
  • more to spend on other items in the catalogue
  • The incolours will stick around for longer YAY!!!
And many more positives too many to name.

I look forward to the next few months as a demonstrator using my colours that are retiring and giving them a terrific send off!!!

If you have any questions please dont hesitate to flick me an email and I would be more than happy to help with any queries you may have!!!!

Baby Shower card

My friend held a baby shower recently in fact Im pretty sure she will be having her baby any day now! We had a fun day of playing baby orientated games including not being able to say BABY for the entire day which was quite hard! You got given 4 pegs to start with and evey time someone caught you out you had to give them one of your pegs. I said baby once and lost a peg but gained it back when I caught someone else out. One lady had pegs all over her and won she had a great ear for it!

Anyways I made a card for the lucky mum to be! I thought the sweet treat cups would be perfect so here it is!

I colours I used were Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery. Sweet Treat Cups, Something Sweet (retired) & Greetings Eight Stampsets, Winter Bright Simply Scrappin Kit (retired), Soft Subtles Buttons (retired) and Whisper White Ribbon.

I also made matching wrapping paper with umbrellas stamped all over.

My Swap for Team Day

I went to a team day yesterday and we did a Shoebox Swap which are so much fun!!! The idea is to make a card, 3d item, scrap page or whatever then make say 10 kits. Then when you get there you set up your station with your card sample and all the supplies you need to make the card then you all swap chairs and make everyone elses card. It is so much fun because with a regualr swap your just swapping premade cards but with a shoebox swap it is so much more fun to make the actual card you swaped for. So here is my Shoebox Swap card...

The colours I used were Elegant Eggplant (one of my favs) and Only Orange. The stampset I used was from the Autumn Winter Mini Cttage Garden and Sincere Salutations. I used Elegant Eggplant ribbon and the Scallop oval and medim oval punch. Oh and also two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter!

New Look!!!

Well happy midnight everyone....

I am pleased to present my new look blog. I haven't been happy with the look of my blog for a long time and was cruising around the net earlier this year and found an awesome website run by the fabulous Michelle Laycock. (click on her name to see her website)I was really impressed with what I saw and knew that I needed to get in contact with Michelle and get her to save my blog! I showed her what style I was after and we emailed back and forth till she came up with what you see here. I think it really shows my personality to a tea and with matching buttons, watermarks and a new signature. I am loving my new look! So thanks a bunch Michelle I am thrilled with what you've done *hugs*!!!

I feel all inspired and motivated (thank heavens) now and look forward to sharing more of my personal and professional creative journey! Well off to get some shut eye... Yawn!!!

Ps Ive also added a card tutorial and information for my upcoming classes click on the link above... below my header...
