My Swap Card for Perth Regionals 2010

Hello there peoples...

I thought I would share my swap card I made for our Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar that was held in Perth yesterday!!! Firstly a little bit about the day well it actually started the night before really! Cue 7:30pm my gorgeous downline kylie comes over and we start our last minute dash to finish our swaps for the next day...(which actually took us to 1:30am) but anyways Im thinking I will get up early and get there before everyone else so Kylie meets me at my place at 7:30am Im bleary eyed and not particularly bushy tailed might I add! So off we go! Having gone to the Perth Convention Centre and knowing the area quite well imagine my own surprise at completely missing the turnoff and having to do the round about way! We get there and Im thinking we are still early no ones gonna be there but as we walk closer to the function room we hear this throng getting louder and louder who wouldve guessed that everyone was just as mad and as keen as us sheesh these stampin girls I dont know! Anyways I grab my 40 swaps out all neatly presented and packaged ready to be traded and had an awesome time going around and swapping with all the girls! I received some beautiful swaps in return and am completely thrilled that it has given me some gorgeous ideas for the year to come!!! Now I hope that everyone that I swapped with likes my card coz Im always doubtful and wonder but Im glad I did it I love participating in swaps and wish I had done more!

So here goes... drumroll... my efforts! Hope you like!!!!

The colours I have used are from our new Brights Collection which are Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie & So Saffron I have use the Friends Never Fade Stampset and the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder.

I love attending regionals becasue it gives me a chance to catch up with my upline, sidelines, and downlines who are apart of The Klass Act Team lead by Sarah Klass and enjoy all the awesome presentations by Stampin' Up! and other Stampin' Up! Demonstrators which were truly wonderful I might add. I also enjoyed the Make and Takes they had for us to do this year. Watercolouring would have to be one of my fav techniques and it was wonderful playing around with some new products!!!! Sigh cant wait for Convention in Melbourne next year!!!!

Bye for now...

My Swap for Team Day

I went to a team day yesterday and we did a Shoebox Swap which are so much fun!!! The idea is to make a card, 3d item, scrap page or whatever then make say 10 kits. Then when you get there you set up your station with your card sample and all the supplies you need to make the card then you all swap chairs and make everyone elses card. It is so much fun because with a regualr swap your just swapping premade cards but with a shoebox swap it is so much more fun to make the actual card you swaped for. So here is my Shoebox Swap card...

The colours I used were Elegant Eggplant (one of my favs) and Only Orange. The stampset I used was from the Autumn Winter Mini Cttage Garden and Sincere Salutations. I used Elegant Eggplant ribbon and the Scallop oval and medim oval punch. Oh and also two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter!

My Swaps for Convention!

Well Hello There

I wanted to show you the swaps I did for convention... I did 75 all up. One I donated to Stampin' Up! and three I kept for my portfolio. So all up I was able to Swap 71!!!

Well here they all are...in one glorious neat pile!!!

I did three separate flowers in assorted colours but these next three were my favourite colour combinations

We have the Banksia (which by the way Banksias remind me of The Big Bad Banksia Men from Snugglepot and Cuddlepie an Iconic Australian Childrens book written by the clever May Gibbs)

Then the beautiful Waratah which I believe is NSW's state flower...

Last but certainy not least is the ever delightful Gum Blossoms...

Let me tell ya I was still doing these swaps on the flight over scrunched up in an airplane seat lol! Also the night before the first day of convention in the hotel room lol!!!

Supplies for these cards
Stampset: Blooms Away, Sanded
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Black Stazon, for the flowers I used a combination of different colours including Rose red, Summer Sun, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie amongst many others
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Tafetta & Thick Grosgrain Ribbons
Tools: Distressing Tool
Techniques: Crumpling of Cardstock, Blender Pens and Inks (My blender pens are trashed I need new ones lol!!!)

My Swap Card and others

Hi peoples
I apologise for my slight absence. I do try and post at least once a week but 3 workshops over the weekend (Fri, Sat & Sun) have kept me busy and having to do my *proper* job today at the office was well quite exhausting. I think I work harder as a demo than at my real job tho lol!!! Well enough of me complaining because I wouldnt have it any other way!!!
So onto the task at hand...

Here is my SWAP card I made for a Team Day we had the weekend before last...

I made 16 of these little suckers which equates to cutting out... um about 180 flowers and leaves! Lucky I enjoy cutting things out!!!

Here they are in all their glory...

Im thinking of posting a tutorial about how I made this card so Im not going to give anything away about it other than what you see... I just have to take a few photos of how I did the flowers then it will be up and running!!

So thats me out of the way. There are so many talented girls in our group here are a few from the day...

Tracey isnt it just adorable...

and Michelle... (sorry its a bit blurry dont know what happened there...)

All the swaps were beautiful! I love participating in swaps because it gives me some great ideas so thanks girls!!!
Thanks for lookin

PS I also wanted to say to all the people that are affected by those horrendus bushfires especially in VIC but also in NSW that your Aussie brothers and sisters are all thinking of you in this trying time. It is such a horrific tragedy and my heart goes out to all of you who have lost pretty much everything especially loved ones. I just cry when I see the news and think who would do such a thing and I hope they catch them and make them pay. Lots of hugs from WA.
