Mothers Day Easel Card!

Im in love with Easel Cards at the moment I think they are just a gorgeous idea. So easy to make and a versatile card that doubles as a gift because it is not only given but will be proudly displayed by the receiver!

I made this particular one (the first one I ever made in fact) for my dear Mother in Law for Mothers Day last May.

and here is a close up of the side...

The colours I have used are Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Whisper White and Kraft. The Stampset is one of my all time favourites which is sadly retired the beautiful Bodacious Bouquet and I used Occasional Greetings for the sentiment. Of course I also used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to add a bit of sparkle!

Medallion Progressive Scrapbooking

Remember the scrapbooking page from this Recent Post well I decided to turn it into Progressive Scrapbooking and I think it worked out pretty well. I even demonstrated it at a workshop and it was soooo simple to do! So here is my A4 scrapbooking page...

As you can see Ive put the medallions on the other side and used slightly different hodgepodge hardware.

Then I created a 6x6 scrapbooking page. I love scrapping in this size you can not only use it for general scrapbooking like brag books and such but often they look stunning actually put into a square frame.

Last but certainly not least is this gorgeous card. I just love this Medallion Stamp to death!!!

12x12 Medallion Scrapbooking Page

Hi there all

I have a new favourite Stamp - MEDALLION!!! I am absolutely in love with this background stamp. I created this page to show off this fab new stamp!

I chose to use Kraft 12x12 cardstock, Chocolate Chip and Tempting Turquoise cardstocks dont those colours just look delicious together! I decided to use chocolate chip ink and threw in a bit of silver hodgepodge and chocolate chip ribbon! and of course that beautiful Medallion Background and Warm Words stampset.

I love using black and white photos they just go with everything and look great. The picture was taken on my wedding day with my gorgeous bridesmaids Lizz, Danni & Amy. Ahhh almost 3 years ago gosh time flys!!!

Enjoy!

Babies and Young Children Stampastack Cards

At my recent Stampastack I focused on babies and young children. We had fun making these cards together. Here is some of what we did...

The first one in the set of four cards for babies was this sweet little chick from Fun and Fast Notes (all four cards are using Fun and Fast Notes Stampset).

The technique we used in all four cards was watercolouring using aquapainters, inks and watercolour paper.

Then we did this gorgeous Star

We used the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder "Perfect Polka Dots" in the Bigshot Machine

Next was the cute little Pram

All these cards are using the Soft Subtles Colour Family perfect for babies!

Last but not least is the adorable little Hedgehog!

We used the gorgeous Tiny Tags Stampset and matching Medium Jewelry Tag Punch for the sentiment.

I love how versatile the Fun and Fast Notes Stampset is. You may have noticed that the words under the images were omitted thats how I was able to use all four images just for babies.

Baby Shower card

My friend held a baby shower recently in fact Im pretty sure she will be having her baby any day now! We had a fun day of playing baby orientated games including not being able to say BABY for the entire day which was quite hard! You got given 4 pegs to start with and evey time someone caught you out you had to give them one of your pegs. I said baby once and lost a peg but gained it back when I caught someone else out. One lady had pegs all over her and won she had a great ear for it!

Anyways I made a card for the lucky mum to be! I thought the sweet treat cups would be perfect so here it is!

I colours I used were Pretty in Pink & Certainly Celery. Sweet Treat Cups, Something Sweet (retired) & Greetings Eight Stampsets, Winter Bright Simply Scrappin Kit (retired), Soft Subtles Buttons (retired) and Whisper White Ribbon.

I also made matching wrapping paper with umbrellas stamped all over.

My Swap for Team Day

I went to a team day yesterday and we did a Shoebox Swap which are so much fun!!! The idea is to make a card, 3d item, scrap page or whatever then make say 10 kits. Then when you get there you set up your station with your card sample and all the supplies you need to make the card then you all swap chairs and make everyone elses card. It is so much fun because with a regualr swap your just swapping premade cards but with a shoebox swap it is so much more fun to make the actual card you swaped for. So here is my Shoebox Swap card...

The colours I used were Elegant Eggplant (one of my favs) and Only Orange. The stampset I used was from the Autumn Winter Mini Cttage Garden and Sincere Salutations. I used Elegant Eggplant ribbon and the Scallop oval and medim oval punch. Oh and also two way glue pen and dazzling diamonds glitter!

Amys Present

Hi everyone

Im back! Had quite a lot of soul searching to do at the start of this year... What did I want to do with my life, how do get to where I want to be, having a bit of an identity crisis aswell the usual deep and meaningful stuff. I felt bad for neglecting my blog which I do enjoy running but didnt want to come on and be a sour negative nelly so I just thought Id continue hiding in my box until I felt alright to be out in the big wide world once again! Sometimes life doesnt always go as planned and I am a bit of a routinee, schedually, planny type person so when things arent running smoothly I tend to have mini panic attacks and am bit of a pain to be around. So usually I spare the world from me being a whinny cryee idiot! So I just want everyone to know that Ive had my life temper tantrum and really need to get back to the things at hand! One of those being Creating and I kind of lost my Mojo there for a while seriously... I felt like a dryed up piece of parchment left for years with all my colour fading into oblivion. Arrrrrghhhh the unmotivatedness of it all!!! So here I am once more part of the rat race and have come on here after the much needed self assessment to post a couple of pictures of the pressie I gave my dear sister Amy for her birthday in January...

Now this was just a plain ole foot care pack that I got at the shops and I thought it needed a bit of a spruce up. I stamped it with the Leaves a la carte wheel with black stazon and decorated with a bit of so saffron ribbon and hodgepodge hardware all of which are retired  except for the black stazon (hehehe nothing like using the stuff you cant use to demonstrate with) and I was thrilled with the outcome!

Enjoy.... Ps If any of you want to use my own jazzied up words such as...unmotivatedness or schedually feel free....

Sams Challenge

Late last year one of my very good customers Sam decided to challenge me. She made a kit up with the following contents...
  • Apricot appeal card base
  • Basful blue c/s
  • 3 scallop circle punchies in bashful blue, apricot appeal and pretty in pink
  • 3 five petal flower punchies also in the above colours
  • 3 circle punchies also in the above colours
  • 3 strips of ribbon also in the above colours
The first thing that came to mind was a bunch of flowers so I set about arranging them oh must have been at least a dozen times until I was happy with the layout. So here is what I came up with and I have to say it would have to be one of my favourite cards I have ever made. So here it is!!! Thanks Sam!!!

And here is a close up of the flowers...

I really enjoyed being challenged in this way!

Here is what I used - Wanted stampset, Tres Chic background stamp, Bashful blue, Apricot appeal and Pretty in pink inks, dazzling diamonds glitter (with 2 way gluepen), bonefolder and a pencil.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Progressive Scrapbooking Great Friend

I went to a team day a while ago and this is one of the projects we did. This layout was created by the very talented Janice Klass. I just loved it so much that I thought it would be great to expand on her idea so I held a Progressive Scrapbooking class.
So this 12x12 page was Janices' idea...

and could be turned into this A4 page (this is what we did on the day)...

and I came with this little 6x6 page below...

and finally this card...

I really enjoyed this particular class and the girls loved it too!
The great friend Stampset would have to be one of my all time favourite stampsets and this colour combination is just to die for (baja breeze, pink pirouette, saharah sand, whisper white and kraft)
Enjoy!

Progressive Scrapbooking

Hello There

I have been a bit busy lately - same ole story aye! When am I not busy you ask well maybe when Im asleep! No way Im a prolific dreamer at night I dream constanstly from when my head hits the pillow till I wake in the morning (usually exhausted cause I can never get any deep sleep done)

But I Digress!!! Enough about my sleeping habits lol!
I have a cool subject to share with you. I first came accross progressive scrapbooking at a Stampin! Up! Regional Seminar I attended last year. And to say at the very least it interested me. But Ive actually taken that idea a step further than what I actaully saw that day. I thought one day looking at my many card samples in my portfolio what would happen if I wanted to say take a card and make it into a srapbooking page so here the story starts.......

I made this card the other day....

and I thought Id love to take the colour scheme and the elements that make up this card and turn it into a 6x6 scrapbooking page and this is what I came up with...

So Ive used the same colour scheme, wheel and the dsp... Next I made an A4 scrapbooking page...

On this page Ive used the same technique that I used with the bird on the card for the heart. There is a place where you can now add journalling or a heading... Lastly the finished 12x12 layout I came up with...

Now Ive incorporated the whisper white c/s in aswell you could use the squares for photos or to journal in.
I hope you have enjoyed my shot at progressive scrapbooking and if you are lacking in a bit of inspiration get your cards out and morph one into a awesome scrapbooking page!
Here are the supplies I used
Bashful Blue, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie and Whisper White cardstock.
Sweet Always DSP
Always Stampset, Always in Bloom wheel
Whisper White Grosgrain and Bashful Blue wide double stiched ribbons
Scallop Edge Punch, various Circle Punches
Bashful Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip Inks and Markers
Love Always
